About the managers

Richard T. Keating, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Richard graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in History. In 2011, he was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the definitive standard for measuring portfolio management and investment analysis competence and integrity. Mr. Keating has held an interest in investing since his childhood and had the pleasure of learning investment philosophies from his father, Jeff, throughout his life. Richard continues to learn investment techniques from his uncle, Phil, as this knowledge has now been passed down through three generations in the Keating family. Richard joined Keating Investment Counselors, Inc. in 2007 immediately following college after the untimely death of his father, the founder. As a result, Richard was fully immersed in managing portfolios during the global financial crisis of 2008-2009. Richard became owner of Keating Investment Counselors, Inc. in 2018 and assumed the title of President. As president, Richard hopes to carry on the standard established by Jeff which calls for putting client interests first while helping them build and preserve wealth over time.
